4. Frank Lampard
Along with teammate Ashley Cole, midfielder Frank Lampard has also been told he is deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and has been instructed to find another club in the summer. He won't be leaving the club in January, apparently,* and has been told he is allowed to leave on a free transfer in the summer instead, meaning Man United and Arsenal - who are both interested in the England midfielder - will have to wait before making their offers. To sign a midfielder of Frank Lampard's pedigree for nothing is surely a temptation Sir Alex Ferguson can't resist, especially since the United midfield is practically crying out for a player of his talents. Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs look like they might have entered the final furlongs of their Old Trafford careers** whilst the likes of Tom Cleverley - as promising as he looks - haven't quite matured yet. Lampard's seven goals this season shows that suggestions his career is finished are definitely wide of the mark. Source(s): *
