The final option to replace Patrice Evra at left back, and in my eyes the best of the three options presented here, is Everton's Leighton Baines. With David Moyes swapping Goodison Park for Old Trafford on July 1, United are the
bookmaker's favourite to procure the services of the Everton man this summer, ahead of the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City. The England international has been lined up for a £15 million move to United
since November but with the Toffee's already losing their manager to United, would drive a tough bargain if the Reds came in for another of their prized assets. But with Moyes inheriting a squad very much in the image of Sir Alex Ferguson, the procurement of Baines would be a good way to stamp his own imprint over proceedings ahead of a season that is guaranteed to be one of change at Old Trafford and, hopefully, one of defensive reinforcement.
