Man Utd Transfers: 5 Dream Signings That Could Revive Moyes's Career

5. Eliaquim Mangala

Manchester United need a left back and although reports suggest Luke Shaw may be the option Moyes seeks, Eliaquim Mangala is even better. Mangala currently plays for FC Porto and has impressed the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City, with the latter linked with a swoop for him on deadline day. At just 22, the Frenchman is dubbed the perfect replacement for Patrice Evra for his country, and the same can be said for Evra's club Manchester United. With Evra linked to a move away from Old Trafford and suggested interest from French giants Monaco, Moyes may look to splash some of his transfer budget on a top talent as a long term replacement. With the youth of Eliaquim Mangala, he provides just that, but reports of a £35 million price tag offers a stumbling block for Moyes. The Scottish manager will most likely look to spend around £20 million for a new left back, but an agreement could take place involving outward-bound Portuguese winger Nani. If the two clubs can reach a deal for the Frenchman, he could also provide much needed cover in the centre back role. Mangala has been utilised at left back frequently this season, but can also be used in a central defensive role, which is where United have particularly struggled. Additionally, Nemanja Vidic has been linked with a move away and Rio Ferdinand is on the back-end of his career, making cover at centre back crucial. Moyes may have to part ways with Nani and several million, but recent form suggests Eliaquim Mangala is worth a hefty price tag.
