Man Utd Transfers: 5 Dream Signings That Could Revive Moyes's Career

4. Sami Khedira

Sami Khedira is one of three German midfielders to feature in this article and epitomises why so many international sides fear the modern Germany side so much. Khedira is one of the most consistent central midfielders in the game and offers a defensive midfield game which United have been trying to implement through Marouane Fellaini, who better suits an attacking role. United were linked with the current Real Madrid player last summer, but talks reportedly fell through after Moyes opted for Fellaini. With Madrid signing Isco and Asier Illarramendi last summer, they certainly do not lack options in that area and may be willing to offload Khedira in order to fund a move for Julian Draxler. Boss Carlo Ancelotti also has the likes of Xabi Alonso and Luka Modric on his books, therefore a replacement is not necessary should they sell the German international. The 26 year old will have just a year left on his contract this summer, which may encourage the club to sell if they are unable to reach an extension deal. Sami Khedira is currently out with a knee injury, but Germany's team doctor is hopeful that he will feature in the upcoming World Cup. If he can rekindle the form which led to United's interest last summer, a move may be on the cards for the forthcoming window, and the £30 million price tag wouldn't discourage the cash-happy Moyes.
