Man Utd Transfers: 5 Flops Who Must Be Ditched In January
3. Ashley Young
"We'll pay you to leave, we'll pay you to leeaavee, Ashley Young! We'll pay you to leave." This was just one of many Tweets directed at Ashley Young after his abominable performance against Manchester City in the 4-1 derby humiliation earlier this season, a game that saw him hooked off five minutes after half time. It wasn't just that game of which Young has let himself, and the side down in however. The England international has been frighteningly terrible for a while now. Whether it's his awful penchant for diving, failure to score a single league goal last season or poor distribution from the flanks, it's easy to criticise the wasteful wide man. On the wings, United have been as poor as I've ever seen them - the days of David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo tearing up the flanks seems like ancient history. It's quite frankly perplexing the likes of Young have been able to command a place in the starting XI over Shinji Kagawa or even Wilfried Zaha, for that matter. It's time for Young to go. Superb in his Aston Villa days, his move to United has only served to prove he is a mid-table-level performer at best.
