5. Fernando Muslera
Again, this is a name that may surprise a few. Muslera is the Galatasaray and Uruguay first choice keeper, and has been voted as the 6th best goalkeeper in the world by the IFFHS (International Federation of Football History and Statistics). At 26, Muslera still has a lot of life left in him as a goalkeeper. Edwin Van Der Sar played for United until he was 40, and Brad Friedel is keeping the highly rated Hugo Lloris out of the Tottenham team and he is 41 this year. Muslera burst onto the scene while playing for Lazio, and went on to make 96 appearances between 2007 and 2011, before being sold to Galatasary for around 12m - making him the most expensive goalkeeper in Turkish football history. He played in the 2010 World Cup and has been hailed as one of the most agile and reliable goalkeepers in the world. Muslera has actually faced Manchester United this season in the Champions League, saving a penalty from Nani in the process, and his talents will not have gone unnoticed by Ferguson.
