For years this was a phrase quite rightfully reserved for Ryan Giggs, who spent much of his playing days tearing up the wing for his club. More recently however, there's a new kid on the block who is equally worthy of the aforementioned title. The PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year enjoyed arguably his finest season in a Tottenham shirt last term and was the Premier League's third top scorer behind only Robin van Persie and Luis Suarez with 21 strikes to his name. As such he has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer with Real Madrid favourites to land his signature, yet United too have been linked with a mega-money-move for the 23-year old sensation. The Premier League champions are reportedly prepared to smash their club-record transfer fee, and indeed the world-record transfer fee, in splurging £85 million on the Welsh international, which would dwarf the £30.75 million paid to Tottenham for Dimitar Berbatov in 2008 and the £80 million they themselves received from Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo. An unlikely move considered the club are saddled by enormous debt and haven't even spent half the money it would take to land Bale on any one player before, but as a Giggs replacement, there are only a few better options...
