Man Utd Transfers: 5 MUST BUY Signings To Rebuild Red Devils

1. Ezequiel Garay

Argentina centre back Garay has been a long-term target of Manchester United and they should finally land the 27-year-old this year. The Metro believes an £8 million move from Benfica is more likely to materialize over the summer but, as Garay has 18 months left on his contract, Moyes should move for him now. A former Real Madrid defender, the Red Devils earmarked Garay as a successor to Rio Ferdinand some time ago. This area of the pitch is not seen as top priority at present because United have plenty of centre back options. Like Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic has ageing legs and the other players for this position are considerably younger. If Moyes could get Garay in during January, he would add a defender in his prime to the ranks. There is a slight downside to making the move immediately though as Garay would be cup-tied for the knockout stages of the Champions League. In his early career at Racing Santander, however, he developed a reputation as a mean penalty taker. Manchester United fans, we want to hear from you. Who would you like to see your club sign in the January transfer window? Do you think Moyes is right to get rid of Anderson, Nani and others? Have your say below.
