4. He Makes Vital Errors
As well as being physically unsuitable for the high octane intensity of the Premier League, de Gea also makes one too many vital errors. He has recently developed a worrying penchant for parrying the ball back into the penalty area instead of out for a corner from long-ranged efforts at goal. Take for example the Liverpool game, Steven Gerrard took a pot-shot from the edge of the box and instead of pushing the ball around the post, de Gea parried it straight at the feet of Daniel Sturridge who gratefully prodded home from the rebound. United clung on to a 2-1 win that day but it might have been oh so different in the end - his mistake gave Brendan Rodgers' side added impetus surging forward in search of the elusive leveller. The Spaniard also made a similar mistake against Swansea recently. Jonathan De Guzman's shot was again parried by de Gea straight to the feet of Michu who scored in front of an open goal. This time, that mistake cost United two points as United were ultimately held 1-1 at the Liberty Stadium.
