Man Utd Transfers: 5 Replacements For David de Gea

5. Anders Lindegaard

Anders If Sir Alex Ferguson is contemplating replacing David de Gea - whether that is on a short term basis or on a long term one, then United number 2 Anders Lindegaard would be the obvious solution at a first glance. Not only would United not need to open their cheque books and splash out on another expensive new recruit, but they'd also be giving the opportunity to someone who has been tried and trusted at Old Trafford. Lindegaard has fought de Gea off for a place in the starting XI before this term - he has started eight Premier League games in preference to the Spaniard and kept two clean sheets, one more than de Gea. The Dane penned a new four year contract at Old Trafford back in August, so he is certainly at United for the long term - quite whether that's as Number #1 remains to be seen however.
