5. Robert Lewandowski
Could Manchester United revive their fading hopes of signing the Borussia Dortmund star this summer if they lose Wayne Rooney? Last December, the rumour mill went into meltdown with claims the Polish international
had agreed to a £12 million move to Old Trafford, and the forward has been linked with the club ever since. European champions Bayern Munich then entered the race, while Chelsea were also an interested party as the forward put in a series of dazzling displays, the highlight of which was his scoring of four goals against Real Madrid in the Champions League last season. In June, the Premier League champions reportedly
accidentally confirmed the signing of the player on their club website, leading many to believe at the time that a deal was imminent. Since then though, it has been reported by various media outlets that the 24-year-old will stay in Dortmund this summer before
joining Bayern next year. Unless there's another sting in the tale? If the Red Devils lose Rooney, they're going to need a proven goalscorer, and Lewandowski is just that, though it would take some convincing to persuade him to abandon his dreams of a move to the Allianz Arena.
