4. Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan)

As far as young talents go, put Mauro Icardi alongside Palermo's Paulo Dybala. Both players are making an impression on Serie A with their respective clubs, but Inter's Icardi offers a different kind of threat. Icardi is more of a no-nonsense centre forward - perhaps more in the mould of what United are actually looking for - and former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini seems to think if Icardi can continue his progress, he's set to become one of Europe's top strikers. Inter are no longer a European superpower, so it's not impossible to think he's going to outgrow the club - and the Premier League is tailor-made. The Argentinian is no stranger to controversy though. Born in Rosario - the same place as the likes of Angel Di Maria and Lionel Messi - Icardi ended up moving across to Barcelona, before finding himself with Sampdoria as a teenager in Serie A. It was there where he struck up a blossoming relationship with fellow countryman Maxi Lopez. The two seemed to have an understanding, but all of that turned rather sour after Icardi professed his love for Maxi's wife, Wanda, on Twitter. And what do you know, Wanda and Mauro are now a married couple. And rubbing it in Maxi's face. Is Louis van Gaal one for scandal? Perhaps not...
