Man Utd Transfers: 8 Dream Signings To Win The Fans Back

7. Arturo Vidal

While the general consensus appears to be that this particular Chilean ship has sailed, purchasing the Juventus box-to-box midfielder would be one of the best transfer deals of the summer. He may have had recent injury problems, which also hampered his chances of performing at 100% in the World Cup, but the former Colo Colo utility man is one of the best on the globe in his position. Van Gaal has been known to rotate central midfielders into different areas, namely Daley Blind to left wing-back, with Vidal having the previous experience of being slotted into nearly every position on the field back in his native Chile. His physicality and technical ability makes sure that he doesn't look out of place in the majority of cases, but nowadays he certainly isn't the jack-of-all-trades yet master of none of days gone by. Strong in the air, known for arriving late at the back post to convert with his head, Vidal is about as complete of a midfielder as the Red Devils could hope to land, as the Chilean would have the potential to cover a host of problem areas over the course of an arduous season. They'd need to spend big, especially given the proximity to the end of the window and Juve's keenness to retain their key man, but he would be a very welcome addition.
