Man Utd Transfers: 9 Players Louis Van Gaal Must Clear Out Immediately
5. Marouane Fellaini
Following his summer move from Everton to Manchester United, Marouane Fellaini has struggled to make an impact. He managed no goals for his new club last season, in comparison to the 12 he got during the 2012/13 campaign. In fact, Fellaini never failed to score during any of his five seasons on Merseyside. When he was with Moyes at Everton, the Belgian was used in a more forward role, playing off the striker and providing the team with physicality and height. However, at United he is being used as defensive midfielder and it appears to be affecting his performances. Fellaini has looked lumbered and slow at times in a poor United side this year. Van Gaal may give Fellaini another season to save his United career, with the 26-year-old determined to prove his worth next year. However, given Van Gaals passing football philosophy, it may be that the Belgian is shown the exit door, perhaps to a team who would suit his direct approach.
