Man Utd Transfers Failure: 10 Deals Moyes Should Have Made

The task of replacing Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United was never going to be a walk in the park for any manager, let alone a man who has never won silverware with his previous club. David Moyes was handed the tough task of taking over as Manchester United boss in the summer of 2013 and he alongside new Chief Executive Ed Woodward made no secret of the players they wanted to bring in to the club. Manchester United have always managed to lure in some of the best players to help capture the Premier League crown. Investing heavily in players such as Robin van Persie, Dimitar Berbatov and Juan Mata whilst also investing in youth to solidify the then-dominance of Manchester United for their future. Players like Nick Powell, Phil Jones and David de Gea were brought in to continue playing the Manchester United way. Although Manchester United possess the quality in some of their youngsters, every club needs to continue adding big players to stampede their way to the Championship and many fans thought that Juan Mata would be the one signing which would change the fortunes of Manchester United after a less-than-impressive Premier League campaign thus far. But a loss to Stoke and a 2-2 draw with Fulham at Old Trafford which both featured Juan Mata proved that simply signing Juan Mata is not enough. The signing will not change a thing for Manchester United and the fans are under no illusion that there are more areas of the squad which needs rebuilding. The promises by Woodward and Moyes were made, they made the fans believe star players would sign for Manchester United but each of them failed even if some rumours gained strength every week. So which players did David Moyes need to sign to make an impact in his first year as Manchester United manager? Here are the top ten deals Moyes should have completed.
