Man Utd Transfers Failure: 10 Deals Moyes Should Have Made

10. Ilkay Gundogan - Borussia Dortmund

One of the most highly sought-after players in European football is the 23-year-old Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund. Clubs such as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the playmaker and so have Manchester United on numerous occasions. It was revealed that Gundogan had only a year remaining on his current deal with der BVB which means he would be available for a cheaper price as each transfer window passed by. Numerous media outlets continued to spread rumours that David Moyes would look Gundogan to solve his midfield crisis and provide the creativity the club so desperately needed. As we are well aware, nothing of that sort even happened. No official approach was made and perhaps no enquiry either but the technical ability, creativeness and passing ability is what Manchester United and David Moyes needed. If David Moyes went in for Gundogan last summer then maybe the clubs fortunes would have been a lot different. Instead the fans have to sit through 90 minutes each and every week wondering how players such as Tom Cleverley manage to make the starting eleven.
