3. Michael Carrick v Yaya Toure
Before the start of this season, many fans would argue that Michael Carrick simply hasnt done enough for United in the past. He may still divide opinion, but the England international has undoubtedly been one of the Reds best performers this season. His range of passing allows him to dictate the pace of a game, and directs the team with a deadly efficiency. After just having signed a bumper 4-year contract extension at the Etihad, Yaya Toure will be out to celebrate against United on Monday with a vintage midfield performance. Much like Carrick, Toure is the driving force behind Citys midfield. When he gets into his stride the man is an absolute juggernaut who is nigh impossible to stop, and can cause absolute havoc with the opposition defence. And despite his considerable brawn, the Ivorian makes the game look effortless when in full flow, and can prove deadly both inside and outside the box.
