Man Utd Vs West Ham: 5 Reasons Why It's Must Win For David Moyes

3. One More Defeat Could Be Terminal

While West Ham are struggling down at the bottom, United are hardly flying high at the top. Currently eighth in the Premier League, and a massive 10 points adrift of table toppers Arsenal, one more defeat could be terminal - and not just to their title hopes. United have lost three home games in the league already this season, and haven't lost more in a single season since 2001-02 - and it isn't even Christmas. With their title defence looking all but over, even a top four finish, and with it, essential Champions League football next season for the Red Devils, looks iffy. The champions are seven points off fourth place and six off fifth, meaning even the crumb of comfort that is Europa League football could start to slip away with too many more defeats. It would be catastrophic were United to miss out on the Champions League - their continued involvement in that tournament not only brings in revenue but also dictates the type of player they can attract in the transfer windows - the likes of Robert Lewandowski won't want to play for the club if there is no carrot of European football, regardless of United's stature.
