Giroud is every bit Van Persie's natural successor. A similar build, similar style of play, and a similar injury record...

Injuries aside, Giroud has an excellent goal scoring record for Arsenal, and in spite of being out for nearly 3 months at the beginning of the season, he still came back to score 18 goals in all competitions for the Gunners.

He can finish half-chances too, with a particular highlight being his brilliant consolation strike against United at the Emirates earlier in the season on his return from injury. Falcao wasn't putting away half chances, so perhaps Giroud could be the man to lead the United line next season.

Arsene Wenger will be reluctant to see him leave, particularly after all the talk of a title push from Arsenal, and so it will take a big price tag to snare him from the North London side.
