Manchester United: 10 Strikers Who Can Succeed Where Falcao Failed

He was linked with United last summer, but interest seems to have died off, and the 20-year-old Serbian finds himself linked with the likes of Newcastle and Swansea, having previously been linked to teams like Arsenal.

It's tough to see why, though. He's just scored 23 goals in 44 appearances for Anderlecht, which is an improvement on the 16 in 38 in the previous season. His scoring prowess doesn't stop at the Belgian league though, and he scored against both Arsenal and Dortmund in the Champions League this season.

Benteke is another player who did well in the Belgian league, that time with Genk. Mitrovic's record is both better and more consistent though, so chances are he'll be a hit in the Premier League.

At this stage, comparison's to Benteke aside, Mitrović isn't quite the proven player he would like to be, so maybe United and Arsenal are hanging back, and waiting to see how he does at a Newcastle or a Swansea, before swooping in with a big bid and a wage packet to match.

Even so, buying him now isn't that much of a risk. He can't surely be any worse than Falcao was.
