Manchester United: 10 Strikers Who Can Succeed Where Falcao Failed

Cavani has been linked with United a few times over the last couple of years, as he's been rumoured to be wanting to leave PSG where he's not been given the main striker role he really craves. When you play in a team with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, these things happen.

It's no doubting he'd be an excellent acquisition, and many United fans would have preferred him over Falcao at the beginning of last season anyway. It's easy to look back in hindsight of course, because everyone thought Falcao would be a monster in the Premier League, and he just wasn't.

Could Cavani go the same way? We don't think so. He's more mobile than Falcao, less injury prone, and when he's not banging them in, he's setting them up too. He was excellent against England in the world cup, despite not scoring, but it shows the wealth of talent that he has. Falcao was always a great goal scorer, but he didn't have much to the rest of his game. With Cavani, this is not the case.

It would take a monumental fee to prise him away from Paris Saint-Germain, but if anyone has the pull-power and finances capable of doing it, it's United.
