Though he is seen by many as the most prevalent footballing 'celebrity' of the modern era, known for his movements off of the pitch as well as on, Manchester United fans will always sing the footballing praises of David Beckham, who despite the constant media scrutiny of his life (particularly in the wake of his infamous World Cup sending off in 1998) would always give 110% to honour the shirt of his boyhood team.

Particularly known for his mesmerising free kicks, Beckham was also adept at scoring from open play, as well as creating numerous opportunities for others with his pin-point crossing, though an unfortunate incident with Sir Alex Ferguson and a boot meant that he would join Real Madrid in 2003 rather than spend his entire career with the club like Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville eventually did.
