Manchester United's Greatest 23-Man Squad Of The Premier League Era
20. Gary Pallister (England, 1989-1998)
Joining the club two years after Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister quickly established a solid unit with his defensive partner, and the two were rarely separated during United's first three Premier League triumphs, leading to their partnership being described as the team's greatest ever by many, including club legend Gary Neville.
Pallister remained the lynchpin of United's defence after Bruce's departure in the 1996/97 and 1997/98 seasons, the former of which saw them retain their Premier League title and the second of which saw them lose it (by the margin of one point) to the Arsenal team that would become their rivals for the next few years.
