Middlesbrough Transfer News: Graham Joins On Loan In The Nick Of Time

Sunderland striker Danny Graham has cut short his loan spell with Hull City to spend the remainder of the season with North East rivals Middlesbrough. Aitor Karanka was looking for an attacker following the departure of Marvin Emnes to Swansea City and Faris Haroun to Blackpool, and picked up Graham as the perfect replacement. Graham started his career at The Riverside Stadium in 2003, where he made only 15 appearances in four years before moving on to Carlisle United, and eventually Watford and Swansea City. He moved to Sunderland just last January but failed to make an impact or even score a goal. The 28 year old also only managed one goal in his time at the KC Stadium, so he will be hoping to find his feet again at Middlesbrough at Championship level. There was talk of either the Gateshead born striker or Connor Wickham joining Nottingham Forest, but neither have headed to the City Ground for one reason or another. This was the deal to conclude Sunderland's transfer activity in this window, where five players left on loan on deadline day alone.
