15. Liam Neeson Was An Irish Amateur Boxing Champion
At the age of nine, Liam Neeson began boxing lessons at the All Saints Youth Club and later became Ulster's amateur senior boxing champion. Speaking of his time in the ring, the would-be OBE said: "I was an OK boxer, I wasn't great, I was OK, but I loved the discipline of getting together every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, usually Saturday afternoons too, with a whole bunch of mates and training, very, very hard for about two-and-half hours." Boxing and acting isn't two commodities that you would usually associate with each other but they are both forms of entertainment at the end of the day. The showmanship Neeson undoubtedly displayed in the boxing ring would have stood him in good stead for his acting career.
