Movember: 12 Greatest Moustaches In Newcastle United History

8. Martin Thomas

There's something very homely about Ned Flanders lookalike Martin Thomas: like he'd know how to make you a nice spice rack between making his 115 league appearances for the club. With a precise, sensible moustache like that who would question his DIY skills?

7. Ian Rush

Most of his footballing skill may have deserted the ageing Liverpool legend by the time he rocked up to Newcastle under Kenny Dalglish, but his old favourite Scouse badge of honour was still as proud as ever on his face. Sadly, Rush is barely memorable as a Newcastle player, but such was his commitment to the humble moustache even after it became a fashion error rather than a statement remains as admirable as David Seaman and Andy Carroll's attempts to make the ponytail relevant.
