Remember when Kristaps Porzingis was booed by the Knicks fans on draft night in 2015. The unknown Latvian was taken with the 4th pick and the fans in NYC were not happy.

Fast forward two years and Kristaps is one of the most loved players in the NBA and has overtaken Carmelo Anthony as the face of the Knicks. For Porzingis to manage this in just two short years is nothing short of spectacular. But when you look at how he plays, it is not surprising.

At 7' 3" he is one of the tallest players, if not the tallest in the NBA. However, he doesn't play as you would expect someone of that height to play. Firstly, he looks like a soft wind could blow him over, but he doesn't need strength. He is like a Dirk Nowitzki Jr, being able to score from beyond the three point line, almost with ease.

Add this to the fact that he won the 2017 Skills Challenge makes Porzingis a true unicorn in the league; there really is no one like him.

Through next season Porzingis will go from strength to strength (particularly if Carmelo Anthony is traded away) and will find himself amongst the league's elite come February.
