Newcastle 2014-15 Season Review - Player Ratings

28. Sammy Ameobi - 3.5

Appearances (All Competitions): 16 (11) Minutes Played (Premier League): 1,423 Assists (All Competitions): 2 Goals (All Competitions): 2 Yellow Cards (Premier League): 2 Red Cards (Premier League): 0
Take away his brilliant goal off the bench against Tottenham Hotspur - when he scored just 10 seconds after coming on to the pitch - and his speculative shot that Hull City keeper Allan McGregor somehow failed to get down to and Ameobi has been his same frustrating self this season. His contract is up this summer and the 23-year-old looks unlikely to be offered another - so it seems doubtful he will hang around failing to fulfl his promise for as long as his big brother Shola did. Sammy just has a tendency to disappear up his own backside with the ball and actually do very little with it, and that's precisely why he'll be let go of.
