Newcastle Transfer News: Inter Milan Rival Magpies For Evian Winger
NUFC are targeting Daniel Wass - but Inter are also sniffing around.
Inter Milan appear to have stolen a march on Newcastle United in the fight for Evian winger Daniel Wass' signature. The 26-year-old winger scored an impressive eight goals and contributed a further four assists in 32 Ligue 1 appearances for Evian in 2014-15. A 13-cap Danish international, Wass' versatility has pricked the interest of both Newcastle and Inter due to the fact he can play both on the wing and at right-back. Although Newcastle have been scouting Wass for an extended period, Italian newspaper Tutto Mercato claims Inter are in prime position to sign the winger this summer after making an initial approach. Fiorentina are also believed to be contemplating a move for Wass and it is thought a fee of £3 million would be enough to prise him away from the Parc des Sports. The 5ft 11ins winger started his career at his native Brondby IF before moving to loan to Fredrikstad for half a season. A transfer to Benfica followed in 2011 but Wass was then immediately loaned out to Evian, where he scored four goals in 29 league appearances before signing for the French side permanently. To date he has scored 23 goals in 133 league appearances for Evian. For all the latest NUFC News, Views and Transfers make sure to follow whatculture.com/NUFC on Twitter and Facebook.
