Newcastle Transfer Round-Up: Every Player Linked From July 13th-19th
7. Aymen Abdennour (Monaco)
Newcastle United appear to hear returned to the market for Schalke 04 centre-back Joel Matip after accepting they will fail in their attempts to sign Monacos Aymen Abdennour despite the Cameroon international having insisted he wants to stay in Germany. Abdennour is being chased by some of Europes elite clubs and the Magpies are being realistic about their chances of signing him but they retain hope that they can still convince Matip to leave the Bundesliga for the Premier League, according to the Northern Echo.
