Following an outstanding campaign at Southampton last season, Liverpool parted with £20 million to sign the 6ft 2ins centre-back - but barely half that figure could be enough to secure his services should Brendan Rodgers decide he wishes to look elsewhere. Reasonable in possession, Lovren benefits from having a strong character alongside him. If paired with a reassuring and experienced centre-back, the former Lyon man would undoubtedly be able to rediscover his Southampton form in the North East. A gamble, certainly - but one that is most definitely worth taking. Premier League experience is invaluable, and Lovren has two years of it - both the good and the bad.
