3. André-Pierre Gignac
The one thing Newcastle need this summer more than anything else is at least one new striker and in the remaining pages we assess three potential options for Kinnear, the first of which is Andre-Pierre Gignac. We are all aware of the Magpie's penchant for buying in French internationals and the 27-year-old
has been linked with the club recently. Gignac scored 13 Ligue 1 goals last season for Marseille and 18 in 31 overall outings. Everton, Fulham, Arsenal and Manchester United are just some of the clubs to have been linked with the forward in past years, and the player is well known to Newcastle's chief scout Graham Carr. Gignac has been described as "a British style centre-forward in the Alan Shearer mould" and his presence would certainly provide Newcastle with more of a cutting edge going forward next season. He's valued at around £12 million by Marseille.
