Steven Taylor has not featured nearly often enough in pre-season and there remains the likelihood that he will at some point breakdown with an injury. And, judging by the evidence of his performance against Borussia, he certainly needs more gametime... Taylor was terrible with his positioning and kept on giving the ball away - and he summed up Newcastle's first-half perfectly when he shouted at Colback to "keep it" when in possession, because the Magpies simply seemed incapable of doing so, including the centre-back himself. The defender was also harshly booked in the 72nd minute, when substitute Josip Drmic took what looked like a dive, and Granit Xhaka's free-kick from 30 yards out hit the wall. Not a good day at the office for the Geordie defender...
