This could open the door for Ivan Toney, who was signed by the club as one for the future when he arrived on Tyneside from Northampton. Clearly, they thought he would be a part of a Premier League squad in the coming years, but the forward, who was loaned out to Barnsley earlier this season, could find himself with regular playing time in the North East if we were to be relegated. It is clear that the player would be available for loan if we were to stay up, with the Championship offering a list of potential suitors., however, if the worst did come to the worst, Toney could offer the Magpies the flair needed in a push for promotion. With Emmanuel Riviere likely to stay at the club if a French suitor doesn't come up with a good deal, most fans would push for Toney's inclusion in the starting XI ahead of the inept Frenchman.
