Next Newcastle Manager: 10 Favourites To Replace Alan Pardew

5. Neil Lennon (16-1)

Status: Unemployed Having recently being spotted by WhatCulture.com's senior editor Simon Gallagher at St. James' Park in recent weeks (no mischief here, we believe he was doing punditry work), Neil Lennon has found himself subject of being linked with the Newcastle United job should Pardew be axed. Having delivered three consecutive Scottish league titles with Celtic and many memorable Champions League nights for supporters against the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan, Lennon left his post in Scotland after four years at the end of last season. He has been linked with a move into English football since and the Newcastle job might be of big interest to him. Only 43-years-old, Lennon might be seen as the kind of manager who Ashley could hire to secure Newcastle's long term future in the Premier League and who might be able to take the club to the next level of the Champions League. Completely unproven as a Premier League manager and with a doubt over just how difficult the Celtic job is to win the Scottish league without Rangers being around, Lennon's potential appointment would likely bring a mixed and confused reaction among supporters. Just as we found out when we brought Jean-Alain Boumsong for big money from Rangers all those years ago, becareful what you wish for when it comes to attracting talents who have impressed in Scotland.
