NFL: 5 Draft 2013 Picks Who Should Start Immediately For Their New Teams

1. Matt Elam, S, Baltimore Ravens

Matt Elam If there was one team who had a dramatic face-lift between the end of the season and the NFL Draft, it was the Baltimore Ravens. The Super Bowl Champions lost a lot of players to retirement and free agency, plus traded away their top receiver as well. Both of the Ravens starting safeties from 2012 are now gone, with Ed Reed playing with the Houston Texans and Bernard Pollard now with the Tennessee Titans. With that, it's why Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome decided to wait to draft a linebacker and go with a safety at the end of the first round, which lead to drafting Elam. Elam was the second highest-ranked safety in the draft, but in Baltimore's defensive system, he'll have a chance to start immediately and start cementing his legacy with his new team.
