No. 7: Arizona Cardinals
The pick: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma Johnson is the other tackle of the bunch that is expected to be taken within the first 10 picks of the first round. Some felt that the team could have pursued Geno Smith as a replacement for the absolute horrid display of what Cardinals fans saw in 2012 out of Kevin Kolb, John Skelton and Ryan Lindley; a big reason why they went 5-11. It's also why Ken Whisenhunt was also relieved of his duties as head coach and Bruce Arians was given his first chance to become a head coach in the NFL. So with Carson Palmer as the starter now, it takes the Cardinals out of the mix for Smith and into the mix for someone who can protect him, thus Johnson landing with Arizona. In the past, Johnson has had experience playing different positions, which means he's a gifted athlete and a defensive end's nightmare to try and get around on the line. Johnson would be a solid fit and a great addition to their offensive line.
