No. 29: New England Patriots
The pick: Robert Woods, WR, USC The Patriots brought in Danny Amendola to replace the departed Wes Welker, a move that angered a lot of fans, along with Tom Brady. They also re-signed Julian Edelman, but he also has to show that he can stay healthy for the Patriots for a full season. So for New England to be interested in a wide receiver makes sense, and Woods is a solid pick to be paired up with a Hall of Famer like Brady. Woods had an excellent career playing with Matt Barkley at USC and would thrive playing in the Patriots offensive system. He would also take the spot in the offense and the depth chart of the departed Brandon Lloyd, who was released by the team in mid-March.
