No. 31: San Francisco 49ers
The pick: Eric Reed, FS, LSU The 49ers' secondary took a blow when Dashon Goldson left as a free agent to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That shouldn't scare Jim Harbaugh and company, as he will look towards the draft to find the next solid safety to plug into a defense that tore apart the league in 2012, which will be Reid. Reid can do it all at safety; cover, hit, defend and finish plays, something that Harbaugh will love on his style of hard-nosed defense. There were games when the 49ers would be prone to giving up deep plays and allowing a lot of points, just like they did in the Super Bowl to the Ravens. It's an adjustment they need to make if they want to get back to the postseason and make a third run at another championship. Reid would be a key player to take in order for the 49ers to start that run.
