NFL: Top 5 Most Improved Teams

2. Tennessee Titans

Chance WarmackFree Agency: The Titans made some pretty good acquisitions as they signed George Wilson and Bernard Pollard to improve the secondary. The one thing I would have liked to see the Titans get was another pass-rusher. The Titans struggled to get to the quarterback last season and didn't address the problem in free agency which made some to believe they would address in the the draft which I will discuss in a minute. They also signed Shonn Greene who will add depth to the running back position. The biggest acquisition the Titans had was a good one. They signed Andy Levitre who is one the best guards in the league to a multi-year contract. This will instantly improve a dreadful offensive line and it was a much needed signing by the Titans. Trades: No major trades. Draft: The Titans had a great draft, there's no doubt about it. They were able to sit where they were and grabbed arguably the best draft prospect, Chance Warmack. Warmack was a beast in college and anchored the offensive line for the best team in the nation, Alabama. The drafting of Warmack alone enhances the struggling offensive line and will open up big holes from Chris Johnson. In the second round they traded up for Justin Hunter. This came at a bit of a surprise since the Titans already have two first round picks at wide receiver in Kenny Britt and Kendall Wright. Both are solid receivers and give Jake Locker targets to throw to. Britt needs to use better judgement off the field and this draft pick might have been an insurance policy on Britt. If he can't keep himself away from trouble than look for Hunter to make a big impact. So I understand the pick and I also love it since Hunter is a big, strong, fast receiver that will improve the Titans passing game. Cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson and defensive end Lavar Edwards will add solid depth to their positions and should play a solid role on the team as well. Now on to one of my favorite prospects in this years draft, Brian Schwenke. Schwenke, in my opinion will be a day one starter. He was one of my sleepers in the draft and I think he has everything to succeed at the center position. He dominated the Senior Bowl and showed scouts that he can anchor the center position. Watch out for him to make a huge impact on the Titans offense. Overall: The Titans had a great off-season. They had a solid free agency where they got solid players and didn't spend too much money. They had great draft as well, as the Titans solidified their offensive line and add depth to their wide receiver, defensive line, and secondary positions. If Jake Locker can put up solid numbers, and if Chris Johnson can get back to the running back he once was then look for this team to push for a wildcard birth.
