4. The London Velopark
The The London Velopark was used for cycling events at the Olympics, such as keirin, and also has a BMX racing track as well as a one-mile road course and a mountain bike track. It's 6,000 spectators witnessed Sir Chris Hoy claim a sixth Olympic gold medal in the keirin event to become the most successful British Olympian of all time. At a construction cost of £105million, the venue will also be used at the Paralympic Games and was officially opened in 2011 by Hoy.
What Next? The Velodrome and the Olympic BMX Track will both be taken over by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority and used by top-flight cyclists and locals over the years to come.
