Pep Guardiola Rejects Chelsea Manager's Job Again

Pep Guardiola has turned down a second offer from Chelsea to become their next permanent manager. The 41-year-old manager who brought more trophies to Barcelona in his short spell in charge than any other manager in the history of the Catalan club, has told reiterated his desire to take a break from football and can't be lured to London for any price. Chelsea chairman Roman Abramovich was so desperate to land Guardiola to put an end to his managerial appointment nightmares by offering an incredible £12-million-a-year deal, but Guardiola has stayed firm and once again turned it down. Guardiola's rejection leaves interim boss Roberto Di Matteo in with a huge chance of winning the job permanently. Winning the FA Cup this past Saturday certainly did himself no harm, as would a victory against Liverpool at Anfield tonight and either a fourth placed finish or winning the Champions League on May 19th. Abramovich may decide to stick with Di Matteo until Guardiola comes available, which could happen as early as the end of next season.
