Petr Cech Has Told Chelsea Where He Wants To Play Next Season
Will he still be at Stamford Bridge on September 3?
Petr Cech has reportedly told Chelsea that he would like to join Arsenal this summer according to French newspaper LEquipe. The 33-year-old fell behind Thibaut Courtois last season in the London club's 'keeper pecking order, spending much of the campaign on the bench. And with the Belgian proving to be every bit as good as his reputation had suggested, Cech will now have to leave Stamford Bridge in search for first team football. And there hasn't been a shortage in the number of clubs reportedly interested in the Czech Republic man's signature with the likes of Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United both keen. But it looks like London life appeals to the former Rennes man which has to be one of the main reasons behind his apparent desire to move to The Emirates Stadium. Goalkeeper is one of the main positions Gunners' manager Arsene Wenger has earmarked for a dosage of strengthening this summer with Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina failing to prove themselves as the standard of 'keeper that is worthy of the number one's jersey at a Champions League club. And despite not playing anywhere near as much as he would have liked in recent times, Cech proved that he is still one of the best around in the cup competitions for Jose Mourinho last term. It would have to go down as one of the most shrewd signings in Premier League history if Wenger could pull it off.
