2nd. Manchester City
I was toying between Manchester City and Chelsea for top spot for a while but I have eventually decided to go with Manchester City in second place. Originally, I fancied them to win the title but I have changed my mind. Chelsea have been great in cup competitions lately but I think Mourinho will be focusing on winning the Premier League title again. And with Manchester City, I can see them having a great run in the Champions League, at least substantially better than in the last two seasons. I think Man City have the best squad in the league, definitely. Their summer transfer window couldnt have gone much better. They needed a change up front with all the problems Balotelli and Tevez brought and they did that.
Jovetic and
Negredo are two great players but arent an improvement on Balotelli and Tevez, but they shouldnt have the same baggage. They also needed to bring in and out-and-out, pacey winger as an alternative to Nasri and Silva and theyve done that with
Navas. He will had another dimension to their play. Signing another holding midfielder would have also been a priority to free up Yaya Toure and theyve also done that with the signing of
Fernandinho. Theyre signings have been perfect but there are still question marks over the players attitude and the arrival of a new manager who has never managed in England before. Key player: Yaya Toure Transfers in so far:
Jesus Navas from Sevilla for £14.9 million.
Alvaro Negredo from Sevilla for £20 million.
Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina for £22 million.
Fernandinho from Shakhtar Donetsk for £30 million. Possible team to face Newcastle in their first fixture: GK: Hart RB: Zabaleta CB: Kompany CB: Lescott LB: Clichy DM: Fernandinho CM: Toure RM: Navas LM: Silva ST: Negredo ST: Dzeko
