And the group stage is as far as they will go.... They have been drawn in the ever-feared 'Group of Death' alongside Barcelona, AC Milan and Ajax. Celtic's three opponents have a great deal of European pedigree and history behind them and will be at the mercy of their fans should they not progress! Naturally, Barcelona are favourites to win the group with their dream-team of international stars. Similarly, Italian giants AC Milan will be looking to bounce back from a run of bad form in Europe and once again challenge the top clubs. With the reinvigorated
Balotelli in their squad they are my pick to fall just short of Barcelona and take second spot.I cannot imagine a world where AC Milan fail to qualify for the last 16 in a group that also contains Celtic and Ajax. This may seem harsh to Celtic football club, however they made very
hard work of Shakhter Karagandy in the final qualifying round and didn't look at all convincing. They may have
beaten Barcelona before, but I just cannot see that happening again. Similarly they will struggle against Milan and I think the quality of the European giants will shine through in the end. Ajax are also a team with a great deal of European experience, however they appear to be
selling most of their top players, and I think they are realistically the team Celtic should be aiming to finish above in the group table.
