Premier League: 10 Best Transfer Bargains of 2012

4. Ben Foster (West Brom, £4 million)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocf4rg0GVQk Only this summer have West Bromwich Albion permanently signed the England international, after only having the goalkeeper on loan before, and it has proven to be a decision well made. The Baggies are currently 7th in the Premier League, winning 4 games, but more crucially keeping 3 clean sheets. The back four deserve some credit here, but most of it has to go to Foster, who has already made 21 vital saves in this campaign. Only conceding 7 goals so far, many West Brom fans would've surely taken that before the season started. Indeed, manager Steve Clarke should be on this list as much as any player, doing a fantastic job after Roy Hodgson answered the call of duty this summer, and inspiring his team more than anyone could have predicted pre-season. While they do have a tricky couple of fixtures coming up, playing Manchester City at home and then Newcastle away, you'd have to be silly not to think twice before betting against them. Rating: 10/10 Future captain?
