Premier League: 10 Great Players Soon To Be Out Of Contract

2. Jussi Jaaskelainen

Jaaskelainen The veteran goalkeeper was given the chance to retain his Premier League status last summer when Play-Off winners West Ham signed him on a one-year deal. Since then, he has played in every league game for the Hammers and has been a crucial part in their defence - but his contract is up at the end of the season and so far we have no indication of where his future lies. With Robert Green leaving for money-bags QPR at the beginning of the season Jussi remains the only obvious first-team goalkeeper at Upton Park, so if they are planning on letting him go, a replacement would be needed. But there have been no rumours to suggest they are in the market for another goalkeeper, so it's more than likely that Jussi will be offered a new, short-term deal until the end of next season. If he were to leave, however, there would be no shortage of takers. The Fin has played in England for almost 16-years and so has a reputation that would alert several top-level clubs should he become available. Or maybe it's time to head back to the old homeland, or perhaps elsewhere in the world. For this quality, vastly-experienced 'keeper - there will be plenty of opportunities, even at the age of 37.
