11. West Ham

Umbro/West Ham United FC

More moody mugging from West Ham's lads for their kit launch. Lighten up, everybody! You're modelling a polyester shirt, not posing for the cover of a grime album.

The long faces might have something to do with Umbro's botched attempt to recreate history. Supposedly, the kit hearkens back to the chevroned strip worn by the Hammers for the 1976 European Cup-Winners' Cup final. It's a subtle allusion if anything, the beautiful Spanish blue charge worn by Billy Bonds and friends instead rendered as a mere silhouette.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
