2. Benedikt Höwedes
Club: Schalke A fiery, passionate player, Benedickt Höwedes is a key part of Schalke's defense. His passion led to him being named as the club's captain and his name is the first on Schalke's team-sheet. However, the 24-year-old defender is often over-shadowed in the Bundesliga by Bayern Munich's Holger Badstuber and Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels. He may look abroad for opportunities to stand out from his German counterparts, and to increase his chances of more caps for the national side.
Arsenal are reportedly interested while the defender's passion could see him fit in perfectly at Manchester United. Liverpool are also rumoured to be keeping tabs on the centre back as they look to bolster their defensive options this Summer.
