Premier League: Top 10 Signings of the Summer

7. Moussa Dembele (Fulham to Tottenham)

Moussa Dembele was linked to a whole host of top clubs, including Real Madrid, according to the Mail Online, but it was Tottenham who secured the players signature for a fee reported as £15 million by the Metro on deadline day. Although a terrible goal scoring record would suggest otherwise, Dembele is a constant threat around any team€™s penalty box. An immensely skilful and powerful player, the young Belgian international has the potential to score and create a lot of goals, as shown by his debut for Spurs. With Villas-Boas fighting to get Tottenham back in the Champions League next year, Dembele may well play a significant part in the campaign.

8. Gylfi Sigurdsson (Hoffenheim to Tottenham)

Another Spurs signing this summer was done very early on and was quite a surprising name of Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Icelandic youngster has years of experience playing in England, having played for Reading, Shrewsbury, Crewe and most recently, Swansea. He managed 7 goals last season in just 18 games for Swansea and looked set to join former Swan Brendan Rodgers on Merseyside, according to the Liverpool Echo, until Spurs swooped. They will be glad that they did because in Sigurdsson, they have a great all round midfielder with an incredible set-piece and a handy eye for goal.

9. Nathaniel Clyne (Crystal Palace to Southampton)

21-year old Nathaniel Clyne has been playing for Crystal Palace first team for the better part of 3 years now and has developed in to a very, very handy full back. A rock solid defender with bags of pace, Clyne is also fantastic going forward and some have referred to the youngster as the €˜Championship Cafu€™ €“ a great ode if ever there was one. He is also a recent addition to Stuart Pearce€™s England Under-21 set up, having an impressive European U-21 championships. At such a young age, Clyne is already a consistent performer, a trait which is hard to come by.
